T is for Taco Tuesday

Taco Tuesday. It’s a big deal at our house. Hard shells, tortilla shells and gluten-free shells. 2 kinds of salsa, taco sauce, super-duper hot sauce, cheddar sauce and hot peppers. Spicy Beef and tortilla chips. EVERY Tuesday for 10 months straight. Every Tuesday.

We were so thrilled to find a meal that everyone loved, so naturally, it became a regular. Then it became a had to, and now if we don’t have it, there is much whining and complaining. They still come home all excited and announce that it’s Taco Tuesday. After 4 years, and even though they’re teenagers, it still makes them happy.

Well, Taco Tuesday kinda turned into a game, and the quest for a “Letter Menu” was on. We tried different things, but have more or less settled on the names and what they mean. Our school year meal plan now looks like this.

Sub Sunday ~ Make your own Sub night. All the fixin’s and they make one for lunch the next day. Score.

Meatball Monday ~  Sweet & Sour Meatballs and Rice. No variation allowed.

Taco Tuesday ~  The meal that started it all.

Wing Wednesday ~  This just mostly means anything with chicken in it.

Take-Out Thursday~ I can’t  cook all the time and it kind of has us stumped. What’s another “T” meal??

French Fries Friday – We have a kinda sorta mix of things but there is always french fries.

Thankfully, we get a break on Saturday, or we get the option anyways. But we usually have pizza.

A fancy family we are not but we do eat supper together EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. That’s gotta count for something right?

    Absolutely counts for something!

I struggle so much with meal planning, so this sounds attractive. But I also get bored easily and need to try new things. But maybe one or two days could at least have a theme, to take some of the guess work out?

That’s one of the upsides. I don’t have to think when life is so busy.

My husband thinks your Saturday menu should switch with Friday’s so it can be “Free-for-all Fridays”. 🙂
